Visitor and Metered Parking

Where can I park if I’m a visitor?

Visitors are welcome to park in any metered spaces and pay the meters.

Daily visitor permits are $3.05 per day or $15.25 per week (Monday-Friday). 

Daily temporary permits may be purchased online (a printer is needed to print-out purchased permit) or at the Transportation Services Office located at 700 E. Elm St. If you have questions prior to arriving please call 417-836-4825. 

Vehicle information, including year, make, model, color of vehicle and license plate, will be needed for permit issuance.

If you are a Residence Hall Student, and have a current Red or Green parking permit, you may request a daily permit for your visitors by emailing parking@missouristate.edu - or by coming into the Transportation Services Office located at 700 E. Elm. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. 

Parking meters

Meters are enforced as 24-hours 7-days a week. Metered parking is $1 per hour, plus mobile convenience fee, if any, and is non-refundable.

Lots 14 and 29 parking meters accept credit and debit cards or PayByPhone mobile app only.

All other meters on campus accept coins or the PayByPhone mobile app. Available through the App Store or Google play. Just look for the signage at lot entrances and stickers on meters for areas that accept this payment method.

Weekend parking

Weekend Guests/Visitors* may park in reserved, commuter and residence hall lots with a permit at no charge on Saturdays and Sundays, except where posted otherwise. Daytime Parking Permits may be obtained through the Parking Portal. Evening and Overnight Parking Permits may be obtained ahead of time by emailing parking@missouristate.edu Monday thru Friday.
