Are you interested in learning about the latest nutrition “hot” topics? If so, then you are in luck as we have some excellent Nutrition Talks planned for the upcoming semester! All Nutrition Talks are free for attendees and are presented by registered dietitians and/or students in the nutrition and dietetics program.

Container Gardening Workshop

Grow What You Eat to Provide Fuel for the Future

Date - Tuesday, March 7, 2023

Time - 5:30 - 6:30pm

Presenters - Rochelle Etienne, MS Nutrition and Dietetics, 

Class Collaboration - DTN 744 Practicum

Summary - Come celebrate National Nutrition Month by starting a container garden. Gardening helps us understand what we eat, encourages us to grow what we eat, helps save money, and aids in stress relief.  The workshop will cover seed starting, planning a garden, planting, harvesting and seed saving of various seeds.  You will learn how to garden and plant seeds such as micro-greens, spinach, kale, lettuce and herbs in a 1-gallon plant grow bag.

What to Bring - Gardening gloves or similar gloves.  Some gloves provided.

You will Leave With - Mini plant grow bag with soil, planted seeds and a relaxed mind.
