Admitted Student Checklist – Transfer Students
Note: If you've earned fewer than 24 transferable hours after graduating from high school and are not a nontraditional student, head to the admitted freshman checklist for your next steps!

Activate Your Missouri State account
To access your My Missouri State portal, email and other resources, activate your Missouri State account using your M-Number and activation code. Visit BearIT for more information.

Complete transfer student orientation
You'll need to complete our 45-minute online orientation before registering for classes. To access the orientation:
- Log in to My Missouri State.
- Select the Student category.
- Locate the Transfer To-Do List.
- Select the Access transfer orientation link.

Review transfer credit evaluation
It’s important to review your transfer credit evaluation, which you can find on the Transfer To-Do List card in your Missouri State account.
If you believe elective credit was awarded incorrectly, talk with your advisor and visit the Transfer Credit Reevaluation and Preapproval page for next steps.

Meet with your advisor
Before you register for classes, you're required to meet with an academic advisor in person, via phone or through Zoom. View the list of Advisors for Transfer Students and contact the academic advisor of your major to discuss appointment options.
If you've been admitted for a summer or fall semester, you will make an advising appointment during the spring semester. Spring admits will make an advising appointment during the fall semester. -
Register for classes
It's time to get your semester schedule set! To register:
- Log in to My Missouri State.
- Select the Student category.
- Locate the Registration card.
- Select the Add, Drop or Search for Classes link.

submit the FAFsa
Submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by February 1 to be considered for Mo State scholarships and financial aid. Our FAFSA code is 002503.

send final transcripts
If you were admitted prior to completing all of your classes at another college or university, please request a final transcript to be sent to Admissions.

Review housing and dining info
Visit the Residence Life website for on-campus housing options and to apply. Single students under 21 with fewer than 27 hours of transferable credit (earned after high school graduation) are required to live in university housing.
You can also buy an optional commuter meal plan through the campus dining website. Select the "Commuter Students" link under the "Meal Plans" menu item to review options. -
get bearpass card
Your digital BearPass Card is your official student ID. Visit the BearPass Card Office website to get your BearPass.

pick up parking permit
You can buy your parking permit through the online parking portal, or stop by the parking office. We have several resident and commuter parking lots around campus.
