Admitted Student Checklist – Transfer Students

Note: If you've earned fewer than 24 transferable hours after graduating from high school and are not a nontraditional student, head to the admitted freshman checklist for your next steps!

  • Activate BearPass account

    Visit MissouriState.edu/GetAccount and use the login info from your admission letter. This will give you access to your My Missouri State portal and email. 

  • Complete transfer student orientation

    You will need to complete our online orientation before registering for classes. To access the orientation:

    1. Log in to My Missouri State.
    2. Select the Student category.
    3. Locate the Transfer To-Do List.
    4. Select the Access transfer orientation link.

  • Review transfer credit evaluation

    Be sure to review your transfer credit evaluation before registering for classes. To access your evaluation:

    1. Log in to My Missouri State.
    2. Select the Student category.
    3. Locate Transfer To-Do List.
    4. Select the Review transfer credit evaluation link.

    Have questions about your evaluation? Talk to your advisor or visit the Transfer Credit Reevaluation webpage for more info.

  • Meet with your advisor

    You'll need to meet with an academic advisor before registering for classes. Visit the Advisors for Transfer Students webpage to find the advisor for your major.

  • Register for classes

    It's time to get your semester schedule set! To register:

    1. Log in to My Missouri State.
    2. Select the Student category.
    3. Locate the Registration card.
    4. Select the Add, Drop or Search for Classes link.

    View when you can register for classes on the Registration webpage. Need help? Contact the registrar's office at Registrar@MissouriState.edu or 417-836-5520.

  • submit the FAFsa

    To help maximize your aid options, be sure to complete the FAFSA by February 1. Missouri State's code is 002503.

  • send final transcripts

    If you were admitted prior to completing all of your classes at another college or university, please request a final transcript to be sent to Admissions.

  • Review housing and dining info

    Visit the Residence Life website for housing options and to apply. You can also buy an optional commuter meal plan through the campus dining website. 

  • get bearpass card

    Your digital BearPass Card is your official student ID. Visit the BearPass Card Office website to get your BearPass.

  • pick up parking permit

    You can buy your parking permit through the online parking portal, or stop by the parking office. We have several resident and commuter parking lots around campus.
