What is the Cafeteria Plan?
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, or dependent care expenses. This reduces taxable income while helping cover out-of-pocket costs throughout the year.
🎯 Purpose: Redirect pre-tax income to cover eligible expenses for you and your dependents.
Eligibility:
- Available to full-time and qualifying *part-time employees
- *Part-time employees only eligible for Dependent care FSA
- Subject to IRS guidelines and maximums
Enrollment:
- New employees: 31 days from hire date
- Annual Open Enrollment: Nov 1 – Dec 1
- Qualifying event: 31 Days from Qualifying Event date

1. 🏥Medical, Dental & Vision FSA

Pre-tax funds for qualified expenses (such as deductibles, co-pays, prescriptions, dental, and vision expenses)

Use-it-or-lose-it: Unused funds do not carry over

2. 👶👵Dependent Care FSA
- Pre-tax funds for childcare or elder care expenses
- Part-time employees may also participate, depending on eligibility

Medical, Dental, Vision deductions default to pre-tax: must opt out through AsiFlex during open enrollment
📌 How to Use This Benefit
- Estimate your eligible expenses for the year
- Decide how much to redirect from your paycheck pre-tax
- Enroll, during open enrollment, via AsiFlex Online
- New hires complete paper enrollment form and return to HR Benefits.
- Qualifying event changes have 31 days to enroll/change elections from the date of Qualifying event date. Online enrollment procedures.
- Submit claims and/or upload receipts as needed
- Request ASIFlex Debit card for use with Medical Flex Spending account
- Enroll in recurring direct pay program for payments to dependent care providers
