Instructions for out-of-state or out-of-town employees
If the employee will not be visiting Missouri State University prior to their start date, they may still complete a Form I-9.
The out-of-state or out-of-town employee should follow the instructions above. After the form is completed and documents are chosen, the employee must bring the original documents and the I-9 form to an authorized representative (i.e. personnel officers or notary public) located at a financial institution or university. The authorized representative will act as the University’s authorized representative in examining the documents, witnessing the employee’s signature, as well as completing and signing Section 2 of the I-9 form. If an authorized representative is not available at a financial institution or university, please contact the office of human resources at 417-836-5102 for guidance.
