For Faculty and Staff

Unfortunately, we will not be able to have a traditional commencement ceremony in May. But our #BearGrads can still have that experience.

Spring 2020 graduates will have two chances to participate in commencement later this year at JQH Arena.

The first will be Oct. 18, the Sunday after #BearsHomecoming. The second will be Dec. 11 at our scheduled fall ceremonies.

Celebrate with us

Join us in a virtual celebration for the Class of 2020 with frames, GIFs, stickers and video. We can't wait to be together for our official in-person formal ceremony.

Honoring students at commencement

Commencement is a major milestone in a student's life, and as a faculty or staff member, you have played a role in achieving that milestone. That is why we encourage and invite all Missouri State University faculty and staff to participate in commencement.

Academic regalia

Missouri State will cover the cost of renting your gown. Our contract allows each participant to keep their cap and hood to use in future commencement ceremonies. If you plan to participate in fall commencement and do not already own your own regalia, you must complete a Faculty Regalia Order Form. Please submit this form to Karen Foster in the PSU Administration Office, PSU 401.

Ordered regalia must be picked up at the Bookstore.

Commencement day

Please arrive at the racquetball court area in Hammons Student Center 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony for donning regalia and marshalling. A light buffet will be served. You will line up in Hammons Student Center then march to the main floor of JQH Arena.

Special accommodations

The University must have at least one week's notice of any disability accommodation for faculty or graduates in order to serve the needs identified. Submit your request to Terry Weber, commencement chair.
