Campus Garden

Serve. Educate. Grow.

What is the MSU Campus Garden?

The campus garden is a student-managed sustainability project funded by the Student Sustainability Fund and approved by the Sustainability Commission. The project allows students to supplement their traditional education with hands-on applications while fostering community and providing food for university members.

The mission of the Campus Garden is to serve as an educational resource for the
University and surrounding community by providing space and guidance for sustainable
growing practices. The produce grown at the Campus Garden site is donated to the Bear
Pantry and is available to all members of Missouri State University. Service-learning
opportunities are available at the Campus Garden through volunteering events arranged in
collaboration with Springfield Community Gardens. See information below on registering
for volunteer hours as an individual.

Clubs, organizations as well as classes and other large groups are welcome and
encouraged to get involved! Please reach out to them at the email address below to
arrange an event. Volunteering at the Garden can count toward community service
requirements and other service-learning needs.

If you are interested in learning more about sustainable urban farming or want more
information on how to get involved, please contact the Campus Garden via email or follow
