All first-time students admitted to Missouri State for the fall semester with fewer
than 24 transferable credit hours earned after high school graduation are required
to pay the enrollment deposit. This deposit acts as your official acceptance of MSU’s
offer of admission, confirms your intent to enroll, and reserves your spot at SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration).
Transfer students: Students with 24 or more hours earned after high school graduation do not attend
SOAR; instead, these students must complete an online transfer orientation and schedule
an appointment with an advisor to enroll in classes. See our Admitted Transfer Student To-Do List for a list of steps to take upon entering Missouri State.
You'll have the opportunity to pay your enrollment deposit online when you complete
the "Reply to Offer of Admission" form via your application status page. Electronic payments are processed via PayPal, MasterCard, Discover, Visa, American
Express and Electronic Check.
Your enrollment deposit deferment eligibility is determined by the results of your
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you qualify for the enrollment
deposit deferment, your personalized site will give you the option to defer the enrollment
If you choose to defer your enrollment deposit, the $150 enrollment deposit will be
added to your student account and may be paid later when bills are due in the fall.
You must complete the Withdraw My Admission Offer form. The enrollment deposit is non-refundable after May 1 for the upcoming fall
If you deferred your enrollment deposit and choose not to attend, you must still submit
the Withdraw My Admission Offer form on or before May 1. Failure to do so will result
in a remaining charge to your student account.
The enrollment deposit is non-transferable.
SOAR registration opens February 1. If you have paid your enrollment deposit by that
date, you will be able to register for a SOAR session. View the Register for a SOAR session web page for detailed instructions.
