Summer Visit Days Schedule

Check-in and most activities take place in the Plaster Student Union (PSU).

The schedule listed below is subject to slight modifications.

9 a.m.

Check-in

9 – 10:15 a.m.
Plaster Student Union, inside northwest entrance
Grab a nametag and welcome bag at our check-in stations.

Walking tours

9 – 11 a.m.
Meet at bear statue north of the Plaster Student Union
Take a walking tour of academic buildings with a current student. Please allow 30 to 40 minutes for the tour. Last tour departs at 11 a.m.

Admission presentations (multiple times available)

9:15 – 9:45 a.m. in PSU Theater
9:45 – 10:15 a.m. in PSU 313
11:15 – 11:45 a.m. in PSU Theater

Foster Recreation Center tours

9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Foster Recreation Center
The Foster Recreation Center is a place for the entire campus community to work out, play and learn about healthy living.

Exploring the academic colleges

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Plaster Student Union, 3rd Floor
This is an opportunity to meet faculty and staff members who represent more than 170 academic majors and programs.

Student life expo

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Plaster Student Union, second and third floors
Visit booths inside Plaster Student Union to meet representatives from several campus organizations and student support services.

Financial aid (multiple times available)

10:30 – 11 a.m. in PSU Theater
12 – 12:30 p.m. in PSU 313

Take an opportunity to better understand how many students pay for college. Learn about the application process, different types of aid, and tips to maximize your financial aid offer.

11 a.m.

Residence hall tours

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Meet at front desk of each open residence hall
Come on in! Quick tours of select residence halls. Please allow 30 to 40 minutes for the tour. Last tour departs at 1 p.m.

Join us in Blair-Shannon for a real “taste” of Missouri State!

12 p.m.

Student panel

12 – 12:30 p.m. in PSU Theater
Participate in a Q&A style session with current students.

12 – 2:30 p.m. North Mall lawn, north of the Plaster Student Union
Join us for fun as you play lawn games and meet other current and future Bears. Grab an ice cream treat while you're here!

Individualize your Summer Visit Day by experiencing engagement opportunities presented by different academic areas.

  • Urban Gardening | Darr College of Agriculture
    Urban gardening helps promote healthy food in highly populated areas to prevent food deserts and reduce hunger. Come discuss how your career interests and goals can help address food insecurity across the globe.

  • Short Video Screening | Reynolds College of Arts & Letters
    Take a break from the heat to watch short videos about the College of Arts & Letters, produced with you in mind!
    Plaster Student Union Theater: 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
  • Two tracks | College of Business
    • Steel Crane Experience — Join the Department of Technology and Construction Management (TCM) for a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience in steel work! Learn how to operate a real steel crane used by construction management students.
      Glass Hall first floor atrium: 1 – 2:30 p.m.
    • Marketing/Ad Team Experience
      Join the Marketing Department and award-winning Ad Team to learn how developing a personal brand can help you choose a university that’s right for you!

  • Exploring Education | College of Education
    Explore a variety of subject areas, the rich history of the College of Education, and interactive teaching activities during a scavenger hunt.

  • Physical Therapy Activity | McQueary College of Health & Human Services
    See one of Missouri State’s healthcare programs in action and speak with faculty mentors.
    McQueary Family Health Sciences Hall 120: 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
  • K-9 Unit Demo | College of Humanities & Public Affairs
    – Missouri State Highway Patrol K-9s play an important role in law enforcement. A MSHP officer will demonstrate a K-9’s drug detection and evidence search abilities and speaks about its tracking, officer protection, building and area search capabilities.
    Strong Hall east lawn and atrium: 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
  • Three tracks | College of Natural & Applied Sciences
    • Chemistry – See a variety of high-tech department instruments and discuss research opportunities as an undergraduate.
    • Geology, Geography and Planning – Learn how dynamic a stream environment can be with a stream table demonstration. Check out mineral and rock ID stations and learn how microfossils can help identify trends in climate change.
    • Physics – Watch demos of the process of self-assembly. Learn about properties of atomic structure at the nanoscale.
