Planned Major
Selecting a major
Undergraduate majors currently available at Missouri State University display on the “Major/Academic Area of Interest” drop down box. By selecting a major from this list, you are informing us of your current intentions and enabling us to connect you with an advisor for your chosen area of study. You will have the opportunity to change your major later if you wish to do so.
If you do not yet have a major, or if you are still deciding between two or more majors, choose “Undeclared major” from the list. In doing so, you will be assigned to an advisor in our Academic Advising and Transfer Center who specializes in working with students like yourself.
If your intended major is listed with two or more degrees (e.g., Anthropology BA and Anthropology BS) and you do not know which degree you wish to pursue, choose either. You will have the opportunity to change later if you wish to do so. Your advisor will help you with your decision.
You will find “Preprofessional” programs (e.g., pre-medicine, pre-law) on the list. Those represent specialized advisement areas. Ultimately, you will select an actual major.
