Welcome Weekend

We look forward to seeing you and your family at Welcome Weekend 2019, August 16-18, 2019. Welcome Weekend kicks off with Move-in Day for our new Bears plus many activities throughout the weekend to get your student connected to the campus and ready to start classes on August 19th.

We also have activities for family members throughout the weekend. We hope you will join us for some or all of the activities.

Friday, August 16th

Family Welcome and Information Session
Plaster Student Union Theatre
3:00 p.m.

Join us for an interactive and fun welcome session that delves more into campus life for your student. We'll answer your last minute questions. Speakers include President Clif Smart, Michael Frizell and Dave Embree. Refreshments are served (and after a hot day of moving, you will enjoy the cool Plaster Student Union Theater and sweet treats). All family members are welcome. No RSVP required.

President's Dessert Reception for New Families
August 16th, 7pm - 8:00pm
Davis-Harrington Welcome Center

Join President Clif Smart and his wife Gail for a lovely dessert reception in the Davis-Harrington Welcome Center. Relax after a day of moving, meet faculty, staff and administrators, enjoy delicious desserts, and mingle with other families of the Class of 2023 while your student enjoys Play Fair and other activities. Families only. Casual dress/BearWear.

Saturday, August 17th

Fraternity and Sorority Life Information Session

Is your student considering Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment? If so, join current members and Staff of Fraternity & Sorority Life to get more information and get your questions answered. No RSVP Required.

See Ya Later Brunch
10am - 1 pm
Garst Dining Hall
Blair-Shannon Dining Hall

Join your student for a lovely brunch before you leave campus. Chat with your student about the Friday night activities, enjoy some delicious food, discuss one more run to a local store to get supplies and then tell your student you will "See Them Later" while they go and take a nap before the next Welcome Weekend activity. Two family members eat free with student (student must have meal plan). Each additional family members is $7.50.
