As of July 1, 2025 Student Employment Minimum Wage is $13.75

What does this mean for your department? If a department budgets $4,500 for a student employee for the fall and spring semesters (33 weeks), then the following is a breakdown of the number of hours a student employee can work.
  • At a pay rate of $12.30 an hour, a student could work about 11 hours a week.
  • At a pay rate of $13.75 an hour, a student could work about 10 hours a week.

 

Student Clearance

Clearance forms and new hire paperwork should be submitted on the same day whenever possible. International Students should be cleared by International Payroll before a clearance form is submitted.
