Student Employment Eligibility
What You Need to Know
We want to plug you into a job where you can gain skills and experience and earn a
paycheck. Before you apply, verify that you qualify.
If you are a United States citizen
To qualify for these jobs, students must be:
- A degree-seeking MSU student with at least a 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester (for academic year employment)
- Enrolled for 3+ credit hours for summer (for summer job) OR you must be pre-enrolled in 6+ credit hours for fall and previously enrolled in 6+ for spring.

If you are an international student
Undergraduate
International undergraduate students who meet the requirements below can apply for jobs as well. You must be:
- A degree-seeking MSU student with at least a 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled in 12+ credit hours each semester (for academic year employment)
- Enrolled for 3+ credit hours for the summer term (for a summer job) OR you must be pre-enrolled in 12+ credit hours for the fall and was enrolled in 12+ credit hours in the spring
Graduate
International graduate students who meet the requirements below can apply for jobs as well! You must be:
- A degree-seeking MSU student with at least a 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled in 9+ credit hours (for academic year employment)
- Enrolled for 3+ credit hours for the summer term (for a summer job) OR you must be pre-enrolled in 9+ credit hours for the fall and was enrolled in 9+ credit hours in the spring
