D2L's Brightspace platform became the official learning management system (LMS) for Missouri State University beginning with the Summer 2024 semester. Faculty at Missouri State are expected to use Brightspace to "provide an electronic copy of the course syllabus and schedule, communicate class cancellations and schedule changes, and post student grades" (Faculty Handbook, section 4.5.1.10).
Brightspace provides flexibility and aids faculty in the delivery of course materials and assessments, management of grades, and facilitation of communication with learners for any teaching modality. This section of the FCTL website is dedicated to providing faculty with all the information they need to implement Brightspace effectively and easily, as well as providing resources for those who want to dive deeper into what the Brightspace LMS can offer their courses.
The Brightspace Advisory Committee serves as a change management agent assisting with the identification of user needs, the communication of LMS updates, and making recommendations regarding LMS functionality, user support, and training needs.
