Fall 2025 Jazz Studies Ensemble Audition Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
Auditions will be held for all students who wish to perform in a jazz ensemble during the fall semester. Below is information regarding audition times and audition material. If you have questions please email Dr. Hausback.
It's going to be a really fun year for the jazz studies groups, including several guest artists and the potential for travel!
Ensemble Rehearsal TImes
- Jazz Studies Ensemble II: TR 12:30-1:45 in WBH 123
- Jazz Studies Ensemble I: MW 12:20-1:10; TR 12:30-1:45 in WBH 124
- Jazz Symposium IV: MW 2:30-3:20 in WBH 124
- Jazz Symposium III: MW 11:15-12:05 in WBH 124
- Jazz Symposium II: MW 1:25-2:15 in WBH 124
- Jazz Symposium I: TR 11-12:15 in WBH 124
SCHEDULE AN AUDITION
All students should sign up for an audition time. Online sign-up is available from August 1-10. Beginning August 11, you will need to stop by the Band Office in Wehr Band Hall to sign up for a time. On the dates of the auditions, the remaining times will be available if you did not sign up in advance. If you have a conflict (Pride rehearsal conflicts have already been approved) please email Dr. Hausback.
Marching Band members should avoid scheduling an audition at the same time as Full Band Rehearsals. Choosing an audition time during the Sectional Block is allowed, if necessary.
Please don't wait until the last minute to sign up. There are also Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony auditions during these times, so plan accordingly.
We look forward to hearing your audition. Results will be posted by the end of the day on Monday, August 18.
AUDITION TIMES
All auditions will be held in Wehr #124 at the following times.
Wednesday, 8/13 12:00-3:00pm
Thursday, 8/14 2:30-5:30pm
*Make-up auditions (if needed & with prior approval from Dr. Hausback): Monday, 8/18 12:15-1:45pm
