Spring 2024 Concert Ensemble Audition Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
Auditions are held for all students who wish to perform in a concert ensemble (Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony and Concert Band) during the spring semester. Auditions are for ensemble placement and part placement.
- If you are a member of the Fall 23 Wind Symphony, you will need to audition for a Spring 24 ensemble.
- If you are the recipient of a University Marching Band Grant, you will need to audition for a Spring 24 ensemble (spring ensemble participation is a requirement of the grant).
- If you are a member of the Fall 23 Wind Ensemble, you do not need to re-audition.
- Percussionists will not be auditioning through this process. Please contact Dr. Snow or Dr. Boswell directly.
SIGN UP FOR AUDITION TIME
Students must sign up for an audition time (5 minute slot) during the assigned instrumental block. Sign-up sheets are posted on the Band Office windows in Wehr Band Hall.

Students will audition with two exercises (lyrical and technical).

- Saxophone Audition Exercises * all saxes audition on Alto
- Horn Audition Exercises
- Trumpet Audition Exercises

- Euphonium Audition Exercises
- Tuba Audition Exercises
Students who would like assistance in preparing the excerpts should contact one of the band graduate assistants.
