Program Support Intern

Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Missouri Internship

JAG-Missouri is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic‬ program support intern to assist‬‭ with program operations, event coordination, communications, and other administrative tasks.‬‭ This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and youth‬‭ development while making a meaningful impact on Missouri students.‬

Current Missouri State University student with eligibility for Federal Work Study.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain program files, reports, and data logs.‬
  • Prepare materials for internal guidance, board meetings, staff meetings, workshops, and‬ events.‬
  • Manage scheduling and communication for meetings or events.‬
  • Assist with tracking expenses and supporting budgeting tasks.‬
  • ‭Help plan logistics for statewide and regional events such as Leadership Days, the‬‭ Career Development Conference, and Professional Development Days.‬
  • Manage RSVPs, create event agendas, and prepare event materials.‬‭
  • Support day-of-event activities, including set-up, check-in, and attendee coordination.‬
  • Create and schedule social media posts to promote JAG-Missouri programs and events.‬
  • ‭Design flyers, newsletters, and email campaigns for outreach.‬
  • Gather and share student success stories, program highlights, or testimonials.‬
  • Respond to social media or email inquiries and monitor engagement.‬
  • Assist Regional Managers with entering and managing student and program data into‬‭ tracking systems.‬
  • Generate reports to analyze trends in attendance, event participation, or student‬‭ outcomes.‬
  • Review and ensure data accuracy, following up on inconsistencies.‬
  • Research guest speakers, internships, and job shadowing opportunities for students.‬
  • Help create handbooks, lesson plans, and classroom leadership activities.‬
  • Coordinate communication with business partners for tours, mentorships, and‬‭ externships.‬
  • Identify funding opportunities, such as grants or sponsorships, and assist in drafting‬‭ proposals.‬
  • Research innovative ideas and best practices from other JAG affiliates.‬
  • Conduct surveys to gather feedback for program improvement.‬
  • Capture and edit photos or videos during events for promotional use.‬
  • Develop creative presentations for partnership proposals or program highlights.‬
  • Draft content for the JAG-Missouri website or other digital platforms.‬
  • Coordinate logistics for guest speakers, facility tours, or company partnerships.‬
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with community partners by providing updates and‬‭ supporting events.‬
  • Create quarterly stakeholder newsletters and reports.‬

‭‭Qualifications‬:

  • Current college student or recent graduate in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management,‬‭ communications, education, or business).‬
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.‬
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Google Suite (Docs,‬‭ Sheets, Forms, etc.) and familiar with social media platforms.‬
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.‬
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.‬
  • Interest in education, youth development, or nonprofit work.‬

Preferred skills (not required)‬:

  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.‬
  • Familiarity with data entry systems or analytics tools.‬
  • Background in event planning or coordination.‬

Social Media and Marketing Assistant (Work Study)

Education Assistant

James River Basin Partnership

The purpose of the Education Assistant position is to assist with ongoing environmental education, and expand programming as it interests the LCS student. JRBP works with schools in Springfield and around the watershed to teach students of all ages about water quality and other environmental topics. There will also be opportunities to engage the public through tabling, homeowner education, community presentations, and more. Additional opportunities to work on water quality research and soil tests. We are aiming to build this position around the interests and skills of the LCS student.

List major functions and position responsibilities:

  • Assist with classroom visits, as schedule allows.
  • Lead educational programming, if interested.
  • Make new connections with schools or organizations across the watershed.
  • Collaborate on grants for educational programming.
  • Create educational content for social media, website and newsletters.
  • Assist with water quality monitoring.
  • Assist with homeowner soil tests, creating educational soil test reports.
  • Assist with managing educational materials.
  • Assist with community events, tabling or speaking engagements, opportunities for trainings and certifications on environmental education.

Public Space Activation Intern

Downtown Springfield Association

Duties & responsibilities:

Assist the DSA Executive Director with the following community events in Downtown Springfield:

  • Downtown Wiffle League & Pickle Wednesdays.
  • Grassroots music concerts featuring local performers.
  • Public markets highlighting downtown businesses and area artists and crafters.
  • Other DSA events as time allows.

Primary duties include assisting the DSA executive director with the following:

Leadership Events Intern

Leadership Springfield

The leadership events intern supports the mission of Leadership Springfield by assisting the program director, team members, and external partners to ensure excellent program delivery and participant satisfaction for the Rosie network, the Signature Class, the Academy Class, the Access Class, LeadSGF alumni programming, and other special projects as assigned.

Skills:

  • Critical thinker with the ability to research and communicate results.
  • Able to work quickly and follow instructions while remaining professional.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and community stakeholders.
  • Proficient in or willing to quickly learn relevant software (e.g., donor management systems, event management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and online collaboration platforms).
  • Model high standard of excellence and quality demonstrated by Leadership Springfield programs & mission.
  • At events, must be able to stand and/or walk for several hours at a time and lift and/or carry event materials (banners, storage bins, decor, etc.).

Major roles & responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of event planning, execution, and post-event evaluation for dozens of leadership development and networking events, ranging from small committee meetings to large-scale dinner events with 300+ attendees of all ages from high school through retirement.
  • Coordinate database-related projects, including donor management system maintenance and donation acknowledgments.
  • Contribute to the development of program-related policies and standard operating procedures, gaining valuable insights into nonprof it program management.
  • Other special projects as needed.
