Accelerated Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics
Take a quicker path to the finish line
You know where you want to go in your career. Earn your master's degree within a year!
Earn credit that you can apply to your master’s degree and bachelor’s degree (major) at the same time.
How it works
Are you already majoring in nutrition and dietetics? You have an inside track to a master's degree! Save time, money and graduate earlier with two degrees.
The accelerated master’s in nutrition and dietetics allows you to:
- Begin graduate studies during your senior year.
- Take 12 hours of graduate-level courses that will count toward both your bachelor’s and master’s.
- Complete your master's degree in just three semesters (summer, fall, spring) after earning your bachelor’s degree, which saves you an extra semester or two.
This option is available only for Missouri State undergraduate students who major in nutrition and dietetics.
When to apply
To get on the accelerated track, you should:
- Make the decision prior to or during your junior year.
- Work with your advisor and the nutrition and dietetics graduate program coordinator to develop a plan.
- Complete the proper admission requirements and course work (detailed below).
The accelerated track is designed for highly motivated students.
Submit your application during your junior year
If you want to pursue the accelerated track, you'll apply for this option during your junior year (the third semester before you graduate).
Your deadline to apply depends on when you plan to finish your undergraduate degree:
| Graduating semester (undergraduate) | Deadline to apply |
|---|---|
| Fall semester (December of your senior year) | October 1 (junior year) |
| Spring semester (May of your senior year) | February 1 (junior year) |
