Leadership Training
Organization Executive board training
What are Officer Transitions?
Depending upon how the specific organization's constitution is structured there are different times officers "Transition" and old officers move out of the organization to make way for new leadership. This period is essential to student organizations and is the make or break of organizational leadership.
How do we transition our leadership?
There are multiple ways to train your officers. After talking with 300+ organizations the Office of Student Engagement has seen the following being the most successful:
- Shadowing the previous officer (longer than 2 weeks)
- President Elect: a unique position that takes place for organizations, where while the current president is still present and running the organization, their is also a president elect who serves by shadowing the president and then takes over entirely by the current presidents last semester around March or April. This allows for no information to fall in the cracks after the president graduates.
- Formal training processes
- We host transition workshops in the spring semester to help new student organizations and registered student organizations get the trianing they need for when their exec team graduates!.
- Speak to an Involvement Ambassador! Although they will be osting the workshops in the spring you can also meet with them via OSEIA@missouristate.edu or calendly and talk about transitioning between leadership teams.
