Committee on Citizenship and Service Learning

Purpose: The committee was authorized by Senate Action of April 18, 1996, that created the Citizenship and Service-Learning Program. Its function is to monitor and evaluate the CASL program for the Senate.

Membership: The Committee on Citizenship and Service Learning shall comprise the following: one faculty member from each undergraduate college, appointed by the Chair of the Faculty Senate; one faculty member from each entity so identified in https://www.missouristate.edu/facultysenate/entities.htm, appointed by the Chair of the Faculty Senate; the Chair-Elect of the Faculty Senate, ex officio without vote; and the director of the Citizenship and Service Learning program, ex officio without vote.  At least half the members shall be faculty with experience in service learning courses.  Members shall serve for a term of three (3) years and may be reappointed for one succeeding term.  Members shall serve staggered three-year terms, so that one-third of the membership shall be replaced each year.  The Chair of the Faculty Senate shall appoint the chair of the Committee.
