Family Weekend Food Drive for the Bear Pantry
During Family Weekend in partnership with Missouri State Bears, we will be collecting
donations for the Bear Pantry. Items needed include: Cereal, Granola bars, Chips,
Oatmeal, Mashed potatoes, Deodorant, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Shampoo. There will
be donation boxes across campus and at the weekend athletic event.

Missouri State Bookstore
Get ready for “BearWear Friday” –a longstanding Missouri State tradition—by heading
to the Bookstore for your MSU merchandise! Then, take a picture of you and your family
in your BearWear for a chance to be featured on the MSU website! A 20% discount will
be offered to all family members on BearWear, souvenirs and Clinique.
Foster Recreation Center Open House
4 – 7 p.m.
Foster Recreation Center
Get active and enjoy a workout (or a swim) with your student at Foster Recreation
Center! Families will have the opportunity to use the FRC to workout with their students.
A signed waiver of consent is needed to use the facility. Family members can fill
out the waiver form at the front desk of the center.
Bear Wear Bingo

Join MSU Parent and Family Programs for the Official Family Weekend 2021 kick-off
celebration, as you indulge in a delectable brunch. Visit with members of the Career
Center, University Safety and the Springfield Police Department. A short program,
featuring President Clif Smart will start at 9:15 am. Ticket Required

What’s new at Meyer Library? Pop by for refreshments, games, crafts and more. Snap
a family picture in our custom photo booth and try your hand at new tech from our
Innovation Lab.
Army ROTC Bear Battalion Showcase
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Visit with the Army ROTC Bear Battalion to meet a few Cadets and check-out some of
the cool Army stuff they will have setup near the rappel tower. Members of the Army
National Guard and the Bear Battalion will be on-hand to answer questions and provide
some interactive activities.

BearFest Village (exact tent location to be announced soon)
Join the fun of BearFest Village at the Bear Family Tailgate! Hang out with family
and friends, enjoy performances by the Pride Band and cheer on our Missouri State
Football team as they make their way to the field. Food is served. Coolers are welcome.
Suggestion: Bring chairs because the tent will be crowded. Tickets Required.
MSU Football Game vs. South Dakota State
2 p.m.
Plaster Stadium
Show your Bear pride as you cheer the team on as they take the field against South
Dakota! Also, get ready for a whirlwind of surprises and activities for you and your
family throughout the game. Go Bears! Ticket required.
Splash & S’mores

Foster Rec Center
The Pool Party at the FRC will be a great place to relax after an activity filled
day. Enjoy basketball, volleyball, tubes to float the lazy river, lumberjack log roll,
and in water seating. There will be a fire pit with free s’mores on the adjacent patio.

MSU Men’s Soccer vs. Evansville
Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium
7 p.m.
Head out to the Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium and cheer on our men’s soccer
team as they take on Evansville. Tickets available at the gate.
SAC Family Weekend Entertainer - Noah Sonie
PSU Theater
7:30 p.m.
Join the Student Activities Council for a high energized entertainer. This show will
be a mix of magic, mind reading, and hypnosis with Noah Sonie! Tickets required.

Golf Scramble

Horton Smith Golf Course
Get ready to tee off as you participate in the annual Family Weekend Golf Scramble
sponsored by Foster Recreation Center. Create your own 2-person team, and sign up
for $57.00 (including cart and tax), $30.00 for individual (includes cart and tax).
Your registration will include 9 holes and a golf cart for you and your partner to
get around the course. Ticket required.

Garst Dining Center
Enjoy a sparkling brunch in either of our two main dining centers as you get ready
to bid farewell to your student. Parents eat free with a student (student must have
a meal plan). Additional guests are $9.50 each, payable at the door.
Explore Springfield
Get your outdoor supplies at the 300,000 square-foot Bass Pro Shop including the Wonders
of Wildlife, experience history first-hand as you go on the “Battle of Springfield
Driving Tour,” or experience the “home of the throwed rolls” in the Ozarks. Finish
up the weekend by taking some time to explore the Springfield community with your
student.
