Faculty Writing Retreats

Faculty writing retreats are scheduled monthly to support writing for publication.

Submit a proposal for funding to support research needs, not including investigator salary. Proposals are open to all disciplines and projects should be completed in one year. Funds can support travel, equipment and supplies.

Sabbatical Leave

Research sabbaticals will be given priority and may include traditional research/creative works or an applied scholarship project. Professional development sabbaticals may include a project to enhance teaching skills, to practice professional skills outside the academic environment, to “retool” teaching or to engage in curriculum development.

Grant Preparation Assistance

Services support faculty from all university units to identify, obtain and manage externally funded projects to support research, teaching and service.

External Funding Travel Award

Gain funding for travel related to obtaining external funding. Applications must be submitted prior to departure.

Course Reassignment Fund for Grant Development

Submit a proposal for a course reassignment to develop, write and submit an externally funded grant.

Award: Up to $3,000, plus fringe to the department to pay for a per-course assignment

Summer Graduate Research Assistant Fund

Funds are available for faculty to hire a graduate research assistant.

Teaching

Online Course Development Stipend

Apply for funding to develop an online course that contributes to an online degree program, certificate or increases access for students. Applicants must either complete the Online Course Development Boot Camp or consult with an instructional designer in FCTL prior to course development.

Award: $800 per credit hour

Curriculum Innovation Award

Submit a proposal to enhance or develop active learning experiences for students. Funds can support travel, equipment and supplies.

Assessment of Student Learning Grant

Submit a proposal to assess student learning in courses, programs, departments or colleges. Funds can support such things as faculty incentives, workshops and student participation incentives.

Showcase on Teaching and Learning

Attend/participate in the annual interdisciplinary university conference that highlights teaching practices at all levels of experience.

Library Research Consultation

Gain in-depth advisory service about specific library research processes and resources. Face-to-face or virtual assistance is provided for faculty.

Apply for selection. Work cooperatively with Inclusive Engagement to provide quality, seamless academic services for faculty, staff, student and community engagement success.

Award: $7,500 stipend per year
