Faculty Summer Research Fellowship

Sabbatical Leave

Research sabbaticals will be given priority and may include traditional research/creative works or an applied scholarship project. Professional development sabbaticals may include a project to enhance teaching skills, to practice professional skills outside the academic environment, to “retool” teaching or to engage in curriculum development.

Award: One semester or one full year

Grant Preparation Assistance

Services support faculty from all university units to identify, obtain and manage externally funded projects to support research, teaching and service.

External Funding Travel Award

Gain funding for travel related to obtaining external funding. Applications must be submitted prior to departure.

Equipment Matching Fund

Program supports externally funded faculty projects by matching equipment costs.

Award: Up to 50% of the cost for equipment proposed

Course Reassignment Fund for Grant Development

Submit a proposal for a course reassignment to develop, write and submit an externally funded grant.

Award: Up to $3,000, plus fringe to the department to pay for a per-course assignment

Curriculum Innovation Award

Submit a proposal to enhance or develop active learning experiences for students. Funds can support travel, equipment and supplies.

Assessment of Student Learning Grant

Submit a proposal to assess student learning in courses, programs, departments or colleges. Funds can support such things as faculty incentives, workshops and student participation incentives.

Award: $500 via a departmental transfer

Development

Showcase on Teaching and Learning

Attend/participate in the annual interdisciplinary university conference that highlights teaching practices at all levels of experience.
