Options to consider when pursuing Elementary Math Specialist Certification through Missouri State

Elementary Education/Master of Science in Education (MSED)

Certification as an Elementary Math Specialist (1-6) can be earned in combination with the Master of Science in Education (MSED) in Elementary Education. This program allows students to earn certification as an Elementary Math Specialist and apply that coursework toward an emphasis in the MSED Degree. After being recommended for certification, students will then complete additional graduate-level coursework to complete the MSED degree. The minimum GPA requirement to apply for this program option is a 2.75 overall cumulative, or a 3.00 in the last 60 hours.

This program offers a flexible schedule, and most courses to complete the degree are offered in the evenings, summers or online.
