Emergency Scholarships

A single unexpected event can put a student's education at risk.

The Missouri State University Emergency Scholarship Fund provides immediate financial assistance to students facing unforeseen personal crises that threaten their ability to remain enrolled.

Whether coping with the loss of a parent or guardian, recovering from a natural disaster, rebuilding after a fire or navigating another life-altering hardship, students often need help quickly to stay on track toward graduation.

Emergency Scholarship awards help bridge critical financial gaps during times of crisis, allowing students to focus on their education rather than the circumstances that could force them to leave school.

How to apply

Students can apply for the emergency scholarships funding by reaching out to the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Students receiving assistance must meet academic and financial aid eligibility requirements and provide documentation of their emergency circumstances. Applications are carefully reviewed to ensure limited funds are directed to students with demonstrated need.

Because these scholarships are awarded in response to urgent and unforeseen situations, available funding is critical. The need for assistance continues to grow, and the Emergency Scholarship Fund has been heavily utilized by students facing extraordinary circumstances.

Today, the fund is nearing depletion.
