Career Center
The mission of the Career Center is to provide professional assistance and intervention
to Missouri State students and alumni through the use of career counseling, internship
and full-time job searches, and vocational and educational information, for they may
make insightful career decisions.
Disability Resource Center
In conjunction with the Community Principles and overall mission of Missouri State
University, the Disability Resource Center appreciates disability as an integral part
of the university experience. We are committed to providing equal access and opportunity
to all campus programs and services for persons with disabilities. Through collaboration
and support of the entire campus community, the Disability Resource Center promotes
disability pride, self-determination of the student, and universally accessible design
principles, so that everyone has full access to University life.
Fellowships
The Fellowships Office was created to help Missouri State University students become
aware of and submit applications for the national and international fellowships, scholarships,
and grants available to them for graduate studies. The main role of the Fellowships
Office is to coordinate the efforts of faculty and administrators in order to help
students be successful in their applications for these prestigious fellowships.
Learning Commons (Bear CLAW)
This interactive space in Meyer Library unites the resources and expertise of the
faculty, library personnel, computer and information technology, the Writing Center,
subject-area tutoring, and supplemental instruction in an environment that fosters
informal, collaborative work and social interaction.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a series of review sessions for students taking historically
difficult courses. SI is provided for all students who want to improve their understanding
of course material and improve their grades. Attendance at sessions is voluntary. For you the student, it’s a chance to get together with people in your class to
compare notes, to discuss important concepts, to develop strategies for studying the
subject, and to test yourselves before your professor does, so that when he/she does,
you’ll be ready. At each session you will be guided through this material by your
SI leader, a competent student who has previously taken the course.
The Writing Center is a welcoming place for you to gain advice on any writing assignment regardless of the course or topic. Whether you are just beginning an assignment or are in the final stages of a project, we can help! Undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty use this free academic support service to workshop papers for their academic courses, creative writing, speeches, presentations, course syllabi, and articles intended for publication.
