Director of Multicultural Programs
Dr. Nina Barudzic

The Director of Multicultural Programs provides leadership and support for the establishment and achievement of retention initiatives, develops programs that serve the needs of diverse student populations, and promotes academic enhancement efforts in support of the mission of the University.
Dr. Nina Barudzic completed her doctoral studies in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Bowling Green State University in May 2022. She is extremely passionate about diversity, creating inclusive and equitable spaces and advocating for marginalized students. She has over four years of experience working in Multicultural Affairs. She enjoys "teaching and working on challenging projects that push the needle for students' success."
When Dr. Barudzic has free time, she plays tennis and enjoys time with her family and friends.
Assistant Director of Multicultural Programs/LGBTQ+ Student Services
Shy Wells, BSW

The Assistant Director of Multicultural Programs for LGBTQ+ Student Services focuses on the development of the LGBTQ+ Safe Zone Training Program, advising LGBTQ+ and Cultural student organizations, and the Heritage Months Series.
A local Springfieldian, Shy completed a bachelor’s degree from the School of Social Work right here at Missouri State University. Shy brings experience advising, advocating for LGBTQ students and families, and building relationships within the Springfield community. Additionally, Wells has previously worked in psychiatric care supporting teens and young adults in mental health crises by scheduling, facilitating group therapy, and providing resources for aftercare. They have earned certificates in Trauma-Informed Care, ABA Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and Group Therapy.

Faith Giedd
she/her/hers
Faith assists the Inclusive Excellence Scholars program in an advising role.
She has over 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, administration, grant writing and grant-making. Faith currently serves as the Executive Director of the Cook Family Foundation (2018-present Part-time). Faith holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Springfield. Faith is married to Dr. Ryan Giedd, Emeritus Professor Physics, Astronomy and Materials Science. He was in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences for over 25 hours.
Outside of work, Faith loves being with her family & friends. She is married and has two children. She loves to travel, and volunteer in the community.
