Bear Connection is a 90-day welcome program for New Staff at Missouri State. Through professional networking and special campus events, this program provides opportunities for New Staff to increase their knowledge of campus and engage in our inclusive Bear community.
New Staff who participate will be able to learn more about Missouri State by networking with experienced Ambassadors across the University.
New Staff members will be assigned Welcome Ambassadors whom they will meet following New Staff orientation. These Ambassadors will host your orientation group for lunch and exchange contact information to stay in touch during your first 90 days at Missouri State.
Participating Staff will receive access to knowledge about our systems and campus resources. Plus, you’ll get the chance to connect with leaders across titles and departments.
Bear Connection is a voluntary program. All New Staff are asked to join Ambassadors for lunch and may opt into a walking tour following orientation. The decision to network following orientation is voluntarily decided between New Staff and Bear Connection Ambassadors.
During orientation, you will receive a Welcome Basket containing contact information and a brief introduction to the program. Throughout your first 90 days at Missouri State, you will get guiding emails from our team and from your Ambassador(s).
Last but not least, you will receive a calendar invite and event reminders to attend Clif's Connection, our special quarterly welcome event personally hosted by the University President.
We created the Bear Connection Program to welcome you to Missouri State and help you learn about the campus culture, organizational structure, and all the university resources available to you. As a new staff member, The Bear Connection team has curated learning strategies for identifying your values, creating your personal vision, and connecting it to what you do at MSU.
