Call for Proposal

The 38th Showcase on Teaching & Learning Call for Proposals is now open! The Showcase on Teaching and Learning will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The FCTL Advisory Council is inviting faculty to submit a Showcase proposal that highlight their teaching practices and would appeal to faculty across disciplines and all levels of experience.. The council is seeking proposals for the following type of presentations:

Session Formats:
Interactive Session - 50 Minutes

A 50-minute interactive session delivered in front of a live audience during Showcase. Presentations should engage audience members and include time for Q&A with attendees.

Poster Session

Presenters will create a conference poster that concisely presents their topic, research, or teaching practice. Posters should combine text and graphics to make a visually pleasing presentation. It is recommended that you provide a handout with your contact information for your poster session. Dedicated time for poster sessions will be provided to allow for informal discussion between you and your audience.

Proposal Submission Details:

  1. Name of presenter(s).
  2. Presenter(s) information or bio.
  3. Title of Presentation (title should catch the reader's attention).
  4. Proposal Abstract: Proposals should include a 150–250-word abstract that clearly states learning goals and outcomes (key takeaways) for the session.

Proposals will be peer reviewed by the FCTL Advisory Council and evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Clarity of the proposal abstract including key takeaways and audience interaction component
  • Relevant topic that would appeal to faculty of all experience levels
  • Presents practical methods and techniques that others can use and apply
  • Provides evidence of successful outcomes or lessons learned
