Financial Responsibility

Contrary to rumors and stereotypes, joining a fraternity or sorority is affordable. Sororities and Fraternities charge dues to ensure that the organization can continue to expand.  Dues cover such events as Inter-Greek philanthropies, speakers, leadership retreats, national dues, and many other opportunities for members.  At Missouri State, the cost of dues varies between every chapter.  IFC fraternity and PHA sorority dues range from $250 to $450 per semester.  Rent for living in a fraternity or sorority house is CONSIDERABLY cheaper than living in the residence halls (the average rent in a sorority house is $425 a month, average in a residence hall is $450).  Greek life at Missouri State University is well worth the cost.  If you are worried about finances, most chapters have payment plans to help with the cost.
