Donors may choose between two types of funds based on their philanthropic goals.

Endowed funds

Endowed funds provide support in perpetuity. The principal is invested for the long term, while a portion of the annual earnings is used to support the area you choose each year.

Because endowed funds continue generating support over time, they create a lasting legacy that benefits generations of Missouri State students and programs.

Endowed funds may support:

  • Scholarships
  • Colleges and academic departments
  • Faculty chairs, professorships and fellowships
  • Athletics and university programs
  • Campus initiatives and areas of greatest need

The minimum gift to establish an endowed fund is $25,000.

Expendable funds

Expendable funds provide immediate support for the area you designate. These funds allow colleges, departments and programs to address current needs and opportunities right away.

The minimum contribution to establish an expendable fund is $5,000 or $1,000 annually over five years.

Establishing Your Fund

The Missouri State Foundation works closely with donors to create funds that reflect their interests, values and vision for impact. Each fund is established through a donor agreement outlining the purpose and intent of the gift.

Whether creating an immediate impact through an expendable fund or building a lasting legacy through an endowment, your generosity helps strengthen Missouri State for generations to come.
