Veterans Day Breakfast

Each Veterans Day, the Missouri State Foundation proudly hosts the annual Veterans Day Breakfast, a tradition dedicated to honoring the men and women who have served our nation. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and community members gather to express their gratitude and celebrate the courage, commitment and sacrifice of veterans and active-duty military members.

The morning begins with a complimentary breakfast for veterans, followed by a special program featuring a distinguished guest speaker whose story offers reflection, inspiration and appreciation for military service. The program also includes patriotic music and service songs performed by members of the Pride Band, presentation of the colors by the Pershing Rifles Company and a performance of the National Anthem.

Following the breakfast, the campus community comes together for one of Missouri State's most meaningful traditions: the Taps Project. Beginning outside McDonald Arena, Missouri State trumpeters perform a cascading rendition of Taps that echoes across campus in coordination with the Department of Military Science. The moving tribute honors those who have served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The celebration continues throughout the day as Missouri State recognizes veterans and current military members during the university's annual Heroes Day football game, extending the spirit of gratitude beyond the morning's events.

The Veterans Day Breakfast reflects Missouri State's commitment to honoring those who have served while bringing the campus and community together in remembrance, appreciation and respect.
