There is a bug in the Ellucian software that prevents the name of the student from
being carried forward the first time you click on a link. You can either type it in,
or simply click on the link a second time.
Not yet. As additional phases are rolled out, there may be an option to edit advising
notes after submission. For the immediate future, please contact Ross Hawkins to delete
and revise advising notes, as well as rescind advisor releases.
There is a training video for ATLAS notes. This can be used when new faculty/staff
members need to begin using Notes before they attend the Master Advisor Workshop.
If additional training is needed after viewing, contact the the Director of Academic
Advisement, Ross Hawkins.
Academic Advisor, Success Coach, Administrator, International, Veteran Services, etc.
They are equivalent to Student Support Roles. See the Support Team Legend for descriptions of the different advisor types.
If someone has more that one type, it will default to academic advising (if that is
one of their roles), otherwise, it will default in alpha order. To change the note
type on the Create Note page, click on the drop down that is on the upper right side
of the Create Note text box.
While Edge will run ATLAS at times, it is prone to authentication errors. Because
Edge is integrated with other Microsoft services, it causes conflicts with the authentication
for MSU custom web pages, including ATLAS.
To avoid this problem altogether, simply use another browser. ATLAS works well with
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Brave, Opera, and probably any others that do not integrate
with Windows in this way.
Use the search box above the tabs and enter the student information you are looking
for. All the tabs that might contain that information are displayed and can be clicked
on to access.
Care should be taken with the information of ALL students, and if you are unsure of
the rules, please see the FERPA training in My Learning Connection. Students who have
a FERPA hold, will have their screens flanked with warning messages.
