Student Opportunity Fund
Created in the 2016-2017 academic year, the Student Opportunity Fund is an initiative of the Division of Student Affairs that is coordinated through the department of Student Support & Opportunity Services. The fund was created specifically to encourage and promote programming, travel, collaborations, and community work seeking to promote the 3 pillars of the Public Affairs mission at Missouri State University including Ethical Leadership, Cultural Competence, and Community Engagement.
Application is located on BearLink under Forms. You can apply any time. If multiple
organizations/people are applying for the same event, please submit only one application
with all the names on it. You will fill out the application explaining the following:

What is the project/initiative/event about
-
How will the entire campus community benefit from the project/initiative/event
-
How does the project/initiative/event corresponds with the Public Affairs Mission
-
Timeline for the fund implementation
You will also attach a budget sheet with the following information:

Clear Budget Items

Allocation of the budget (the more details the better)

What, if any, other forms of funding are you using (e.g. SOFAC, SGA, personal, etc.)

If there are any links you can provide us with more information for the committee to review, please include in the budget sheet
You may apply once per academic year. If additional funds become available, we will
notify organizations by email. Typically, an organization or individual may receive
up to $1,500, though higher amounts may be awarded if multiple organizations apply
or at the committee’s discretion. The committee reviews applications weekly, and applicants
will be notified by email of the decision and next steps.
