CUSA Faculty Achievement Award

About the CUSA Faculty Achievement Award

The Conference USA (CUSA) Faculty Achievement Award honors one faculty member from each CUSA institution for an exceptional record of teaching, research/scholarly activity and service. This award comes with an institutional honorarium of $5,000, and the award winner becomes the university’s nominee for CUSA Professor of the Year.

CUSA Professor of the Year

A committee comprised of provosts from each member institution chooses the CUSA Professor of the Year from that year’s CUSA Faculty Achievement Award winners — with the understanding that committee members cannot vote for the nominee from their own institution. The winner of the CUSA Professor of the Year receives an additional conference honorarium of $15,000.

Who’s Eligible for the CUSA Faculty Achievement Award?

  • Full-time Missouri State faculty members are eligible.
  • Any faculty member who has previously received the CUSA Faculty Achievement Award is not eligible.
  • Faculty members who have previously received institutional awards, such as Missouri State University Foundation Awards, are eligible.

What Criteria Will Be Considered?

The selection committee will choose an honoree who:

  • Demonstrates an outstanding record of scholarly contributions in teaching, research/creative activity and/or service.
  • Has attained regional, national or international recognition for contributions or achievements within the discipline.

How Do I Apply?

Applications open the first Monday of December and will remain open until 12 p.m. the first Monday of the following February.

This award does not require nomination by a peer or academic unit leader. You may apply by emailing your submission materials to CUSAFacultyAwards@missouristate.edu. Please attach only the following submission materials, and please attach these materials as two, separate PDFs:

The office of the provost will reply by email to acknowledge receipt of your materials.
