Pre-Nursing Curriculum Plan

The first steps in your nursing career

Pre-nursing keeps you on track for applying to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

To apply to the Missouri State BSN program in your sophomore year, you first need to:

  • Complete (or be in progress of completing) all pre-nursing course work listed below.

You need to complete all General Education requirements before you can start taking BSN course work.

Pre-nursing at OTC

You have the option to complete some pre-nursing course work at Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC).

It’s recommended that you meet with a McQueary College of Health and Human Services advisor before you apply to the BSN program at Missouri State.

Grade requirements for courses

BMS 307 (preferred): A grade of "B" or higher is required. Class must be taken within eight years of your application.

BIO 212 and BIO 213: A grade of "C" or higher is required. Classes must be taken within eight years of your application.
