Legacy Award Nomination

Use this online form to nominate candidates for induction into the Missouri State University Army ROTC Hall of Fame.

The Legacy Award presentation is normally scheduled in November each year at the Military Ball.

Nomination deadline

Second week of August, annually.

Eligibility

Nominees will be selected from three categories:

  • Missouri State Army ROTC alumni (commissionees);
  • staff and cadre of the Missouri State Army ROTC; and
  • individuals who have provided significant support to the Missouri State Army ROTC program.

The following are criteria to be used in selecting and approving nominees:

  1. Made significant contributions to the community and/or society as a whole.
  2. Provided extraordinary service/support to the Army ROTC program and/or the University of Missouri Army ROTC program.
  3. Achieved national/state prominence.
  4. Gave his or her life in national defense or other recognized act of heroism.
  5. Attained prominence in military service, government, business, academia, or other professional fields.
  6. In good standings with the Program and their Service (if applicable).
  7. Lives the Army values.

Nomination process

  1. Complete the online nomination form below and submit to the Missouri State University, Department of Military Science.
  2. Upon receipt, the Professor of Military Science or designated representative will review the nomination for completion and will inform the nominator of any deficiencies in the submission so they may be corrected.
  3. All nominations sent before the selection board will remain on a running list for 2 years.
  4. Nominators must update those on the running list for consideration for the following year. (It is the responsibility of the nominators or nominee).
  5. Failure to update nomination packages will result in non-consideration.
  6. Nominators can request permission to address the selection board prior to the voting/selection process.
