We offer photographic services that may be utilized to fulfill the mission of the
Division of Marketing and Communications to represent and promote Missouri State University.
Photography charges for coverage of events increased to $75 per hour and drone photography
increased to $100 per hour on July 1, 2024.
Photography assignments include the edited digital files at no additional charge to
the original requesting client. Files will be delivered by a download link to the
requesting client. The link and access will remain active on PhotoShelter.

Rush orders
Rush orders will be accepted if they do not interfere with already scheduled projects
or assignments. Fees will double for same day and next day service. Fees will triple
for items required in less than a day at the acceptance and discretion of the director
of creative services.
There will be times, and dates, that assignments will naturally conflict, but it is
also understood that we are a limited staff and in times of unavoidable conflict decisions
will have to be made as to what assignments will take precedence over others. These
decisions are not taken lightly and will be made for the greater need as well as the
greater advantage of the university. The photo request form is vital in the decision-making
process.
Creative services offers aerial photography/videography utilizing manned and unmanned
aircraft.
Approved projects must meet the goals and objectives of the Division of Marketing
and Communications.
Visual media meets all operating requirements of unmanned aircraft, including the
necessary pilot certification. Unmanned aircraft use requires approval by the general
counsel’s office and university safety.
Scheduling
Aerial projects must be scheduled a minimum of 10 business days in advance. Weather
may play a significant role in scheduling flights.
Listed prices for manned aircraft photography do not include the cost of aircraft
rental. Unmanned flights require the presence of at least two persons. Creative services
will file for all necessary requests and clearances.

In purchasing photography from Missouri State creative services, you are purchasing
the rights to use this Image for an agreed upon purpose. No ownership interest or
copyright in any Image shall pass to you by the download of an Image or by the granting
of the license to reproduce an image. No permission is granted or implied to use the
images for any other purpose than that stated in this agreement.
You may not:
Transfer, re-sell, distribute or sub-license the rights to the Image(s).
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Image(s).
Use the Image(s) in any way that could be considered defamatory, libelous, pornographic,
obscene, immoral, or fraudulent. Not to be used in negative ads.
All images on this site are copyrighted by virtue of creation. A copyright is the
exclusive right granted to "authors" under the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976 to copy,
adapt, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display their works of authorship,
such as literary works, databases, musical works, sound recordings, photographs, and
other still images, and motion picture and other audiovisual works.
Photographic archive
Missouri State creative services maintains a large digital image archive. Images are
available for purchase, including stock photography and photos from public campus
events such as conferences, sporting events, receptions, lectures, dedications, award
ceremonies and so forth. The Free Use Gallery is a selective choice of images we consider most likely to be of interest for university
publication projects.
We accept photo assignments that are made at least five (5) or more working days in
advance, barring any conflicts with office priorities and/or the time, date and location
of other university photo assignments previously set.
In the case of a photo assignment requiring cancellation and/or rescheduling, please
contact creative services at ext. 65498 or via email to MSUPhoto@MissouriState.edu. No service charge will be incurred for assignments cancelled at least 24 hours in
advance, if they are cancelled due to inclement weather conditions (including natural
disasters), or illness of the photo subject. Any direct expenses incurred by visual
media prior to the cancellation of the photo assignment, including the purchase or
rental of props or special equipment, will be forwarded to the department/office.
If 24-hour notice is not received for the cancellation of a photo assignment, service
charges will be incurred by the department/office. Departments/offices placing a studio
or location assignment of a person, group or event will be charged the full service
charge if the person or group does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time
and/or if visual media has not been made aware that the event has been cancelled.
The assistance of each university office and department is much appreciated in recognizing
the above cancellation policy. By observing the policy, we can better meet the needs
of the Missouri State System.
