School Counseling Option

The K-12 school counseling option meets the educational requirements for certification as a public school counselor in Missouri.

In addition, for the school counseling certification, the state of Missouri requires either:

  • Certificate in teaching.
  • Or, three additional educational courses.

The State of Missouri also requires a passing score on the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessment (MEGA) for Student Services-Counselor.
