Missouri State University Marketing/Public Relations Advisory Group

Thank you for agreeing to serve on the Marketing/Public Relations Advisory Group. I have asked Brent Dunn, Vice President for University Advancement, and Paul Kincaid, Chief of Staff and Assistant to the President for University Relations, to co-chair the group. We may add one or two other members in the near future.

The first meeting will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, November 16, in the Hospitality Room (first floor) of the Meyer Alumni Center.
If you cannot attend, please contact Brent (417-836-6666) or Paul (417-836-5139). I will try to attend that first meeting to discuss your charge and to answer any questions you may have. My charge to this Advisory Group is: 
To assist Missouri State University in its marketing/public relations efforts by evaluating and suggesting improvements to the University’s strategies for a wide range of specific projects.
I would like the Advisory Group to meet quarterly to evaluate and improve the marketing/public relations strategies that the University has developed for specific projects. The strategies will be described for the Group in advance and then discussed and improved at the meeting.
Some of the initial projects would include:
  • Developing Strategies for Enhancing and Leveraging our Athletic Programs and Venues to Benefit the University and the Community
  • Promoting a Comprehensive Fund-Raising Campaign for Missouri State
  • Raising Awareness of the Importance of Public Higher Education in Missouri
Brent and Paul will provide an agenda, key questions and other background material prior to each meeting. At each meeting, we also will seek your general advice and invite you to brainstorm about how best to strengthen Missouri State’s overall image/brand/marketing, as well as any other specific topic that is on your mind.
