The College of Natural and Applied Sciences/CNAS application deadline is March 1. CNAS uses the online university General Scholarship Application available through the Office of Student Financial Aid. Please check with individual departments for their deadlines and awards. Scholarship amounts may vary annually. Unless otherwise noted, students must be undergraduates, enrolled full-time (12 hours).
College of Natural and Applied Sciences Scholarship
Student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and have maintained a GPA of 3.5 in the major field of study.
Junior Academy of Science Scholarship
Student must be an incoming freshman enrolled in a program housed in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.
John H. Keiser Presidential Inaugural Scholarship for Environmental Studies
Student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.25 and a GPA of at least 3.5 in the major field of study within the CNAS. Preference will be given to students who are pursuing a career related to our natural environment. Financial need is considered.
Martin-Stevenson Science Scholarship
Student must be enrolled as a senior and demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement and financial need.
Monsanto Company Science & Mathematics Scholarship
Student must have completed 90 credit hours but not more than 110 hours and maintained a GPA of 3.75 in his/her major field of study in the CNAS. Recipients must be enrolled in at least 15 hours the semester the scholarship is awarded. When possible, awards will be made with regard to financial need.
Karen and Bruno Schmidt Scholarship
Student must be an undergraduate enrolled in a program housed in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.
Paul L. & Alice W. Redfearn Undergraduate Research Award
Student must be enrolled at Missouri State University with an undergraduate major in anthropology, biology, geography or other area of natural history. To be considered, a student must conceive an original research project in the natural history of the Ozarks while enrolled at the undergraduate level. The award will be made for the semester/school year in which the reseach will be conducted.
Smith-Glynn-Callaway Medical Scholarship (in memory of Guy D. Callaway)
Student must be a junior or senior looking forward to a career in medicine. Eligibility based on commitment to the medical profession and financial need. Consideration will be given to involvement in extracurricular activities, ability to relate to others and emotional maturity.
C. Louis and Thelma Ferrell Van Buren Scholarship
Student must be enrolled at the junior level or higher and have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0. Consideration will be given to students who participate in extracurricular activities. Financial need is considered.
Wildlife Scholarship
Student must be a major from the Agriculture or Biology Department. When awarded to a graduate student, the student must have maintained an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 and a GPA of at least 3.5 in the major field of graduate study. When awarded to an undergraduate student, the student must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
Women in Science Scholarship
Student must be an undergraduate student with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a GPA of at least 3.5 in the major field of study. Preference will be given to a female student at the sophomore level.
