Department of Media, Journalism and Film Scholarships

Contact the department for deadline and application information. Scholarship amounts may vary annually. Students must be undergraduates, enrolled full-time (12 hours) unless otherwise noted.

Eddie Bass Scholarship*
Student must be a journalism major at the junior level or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0. 

Darr Family Broadcast Journalism Scholarship
Student must be a broadcast journalism major. Preference given to incoming freshmen. When awarded to a sophomore or higher level student, the student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the major.

Ruth N. Dowling Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a journalism major.

Dale Freeman Scholarship*
Student must be a journalism (print) major or minor. When awarded to student enrolled at sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of 2.75. 

Minrose Lucas Quinn Media Scholarship
Student must be a junior or senior communication major with an overall GPA of at least 3.0. Preference will be given to a student who is planning to have a career in radio, television, broadcasting or film.

Chris Sifford Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a communication or journalism major at the sophomore level or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will given to students from following counties: Boone, Cole, Audrain, Callaway, Moniteau, Cooper, Howard and Randolph, Stoddard and Greene.

Bill Snyder Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a junior or senior journalism major with a 3.0 GPA.

*Indicates that student must have a FAFSA on file by March 31st to be considered for this award.
