Contact the department directly for deadline and application information. Scholarship amounts vary annually. Unless otherwise noted, students must be undergraduates enrolled full-time (12 hours).
Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship for Math
Student must be a freshman or sophomore math major with financial need.
Alex Cramer Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics major for the purpose of teaching mathematics. Student must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA in mathematics.
Jim Downing Mathematics Scholarship
Student must be a current mathematics or mathematics education major with a minimum 2.5 GPA in mathematics.
Dr. Carl Fronabarger Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics major for the purpose of teaching mathematics. Awarded at the junior or senior level only, and student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 3.5 GPA in mathematics. Financial need is a consideration.
Ed Huffman Mathematics Scholarship
Student must be enrolled at sophomore level or higher with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in mathematics and have completed the first calculus course required for the major. Priority will be given to students that do not receive other scholarships that cover their tuition.
Kappa Mu Epsilon Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major with a minimum 3.0 GPA in mathematics and be a KME member.
Math is FUN
Student must have declared their intentions to complete their degree and graduate from Missouri State. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to academic aptitude. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.5.
Math is Fundamental Scholarship (graduate)
Student must be a graduate student in good academic standing. Awards may be made with regard to financial need, but it is not imperative.
Mathematics Department Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major with satisfactory academic progress in mathematics.
Mathematics Emeritus Professors Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 in mathematics.
Mathematics Freshman Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major eligible to take Calculus I or higher.
Mathematics Transfer Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major eligible to take Calculus I or higher.
E. Howard and Thelma F. Matthews Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics education major. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 2.5. Financial need is considered.
Lawrence E. and Crystal Pummill Scholarship (Pummill Math Relay Scholarship)
Student must be a mathematics major. One award will be given to an entering freshman who has received a first place in either individual or team competition in Lawrence E. Pummill Math relays. The freshman award is based on high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities. Two awards or more will be given to sophomore level or above mathematics majors who have maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a GPA of at least 3.5 in mathematics. Preference will be given to those preparing to teach mathematics. Financial need is considered.
Thomas Shiflett Scholarship
Student must be a full-time mathematics major for the purpose of teaching mathematics. Student must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA in mathematics.
Louis O. and Minnie M. Smith Scholarship
Student must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in teaching mathematics. Financial need is considered.
Teacher Education Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics education major with a minimum 2.75 GPA in mathematics.
Woodrow Sun Mathematics Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics or mathematics education major. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.0 in major field of study.
William "Bill" Sutherlin Math Education Scholarship
Student must be a mathematics education major with a minimum 3.0 GPA in mathematics.
