Communication Scholarships

Check with the department of Communicationfor application and deadline information.  Scholarship amounts may vary.  Students must be undergraduates, enrolled full-time (12 hours) unless otherwise noted.

William Carrington Memorial Debate Scholarship
Student must be the best debater of the year.

Virginia Craig Memorial Scholarship
Student must show promise for achievement in a prominent national debate program.

Russell Keeling Scholarship
Student must be a communication major and have completed at least one full-time semester with an overall GPA of 2.5. Applicants must submit a 500-1000 word essay to the Head of the Department of Communication demonstrating his/her understanding of and commitment to using his/her college education as preparation for citizenship.

Minrose Lucas Quinn Media Scholarship
Student must be a junior or senior communication major with an overall GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to a student who is planning to have a career in radio, television, broadcasting or film.

Chris Sifford Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a communication or journalism major at the sophomore level or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will given to students from following counties: Boone, Cole, Audrain, Callaway, Moniteau, Cooper, Howard and Randolph, Stoddard and Greene.

Holt V. Spicer Scholarship
Student must be a junior or senior communication major with an overall GPA of 3.0.
