Athletic Grants
Grants-in-aid are awarded to student athletes participating in various sports. The regulations governing athletic grants are established by the NCAA.
Barbara Jones Ameduri Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a member of the women's track and field team. Preference is given to a minority student who demonstrates financial need. Additional consideration is given to a wildlife conservation major.
Kurt Barnes Memorial Golf Scholarship
Student must meet all NCAA requirements. Consideration will be given based on leadership qualities, sportsmanship, outstanding character and financial need.
Cheryl Bowler Memorial Scholarship Fund
Student must have played high school football and be on the Missouri State football roster. Preference will be given to a Springfield, Missouri high school graduate especially a student from Greene or Christian county. Consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities.
Noel Boyd Endowed Basketball Scholarship Fund
Student must be a member of men's intercollegiate basketball team.
Mary Christiansen Basketball Scholarship Fund
Student must be a member of men's or women's intercollegiate basketball team and an education major.
Martha Love Cordonnier Scholarship
Student must be a member of a women's athletic team. Preference given to those whose family income disqualifies them for federal financial aid but whose need for aid is significant.
Ray & Susie Forsythe Athletics Scholarship
Student must be an athlete who has excelled in football as well as in his chosen field of academic study, preferably College of Business Administration. Student must have completed one year of academic study (minimum 24 hours) with a 3.0 GPA.
Robert Anthony Foster Soccer Scholarship Fund
Student must be a member of Missouri State men's intercollegiate soccer team.
Louise and Roland Harthcock Scholarship
Student must be a member of the women's softball team and have an overall GPA of 3.0.
Mr. & Mrs. Burl "Bud" Henderson Endowed Scholarship Fund
Student must be a member of the football squad whose academic progress is satisfactory and in keeping with standards set by the football coaching staff. Financial need is considered.
Vermell Pattillo Keesler Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a member of Missouri State women's intercollegiate athletic team. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.0. Financial need is considered.
Karen Koch Memorial Golf Scholarship Award
Student must be an outstanding member of the golf team or prospective member of the golf team.
Lyle and Myrtle Leisenring Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a member of the Lady Bear's basketball team. Financial need is considered.
Lucinda A. Love Scholarship
Student must be a member of a women's athletic team. Preference will be given to a student whose family income disqualifies them for federal financial aid but whose need for aid is significant.
Wagner and Martha Love Athletic Scholarship
Student must be a member of men's athletic team. Preference will be given to a student whose family income disqualifies them for federal financial aid but whose need for aid is significant.
W.L. "Les" and Jennie McQueary Athletics Scholarship Fund
Student must be a student-athlete on the men's football, basketball, or baseball intercollegiate teams.
Webb Morris Scholarship Award Fund
Student must be an athlete in any sport at Missouri State. Preference will be given to any qualified student in the following order: 1) a student athlete from Webb City; 2) a student athlete from Jasper County; 3) a student athlete from the Southwest Missouri area of state.
J. Carole Myers Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a member of the Missouri State intercollegiate softball team. When awarded to incoming freshmen, consideration will be given to high school and/or amateur softball performance and leadership qualities. Financial need is considered.
Gerald Perry Memorial Tennis Scholarship Award
Student must be a member of one of the university tennis teams. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, student must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0.
John Reed Memorial Athletics Scholarship
Student must be a member of the intercollegiate football team.
Steve and Sandy Schoen Memorial Soccer Scholarship
Student must be a member of the intercollegiate varsity soccer program. When awarded to a freshman, consideration given to high school performance, college potential and leadership. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall grade point average of at least 2.5. Student must play in the position of defender and preference will be given (in order of priority) to Springfield high school graduates, southwest Missouri residents or Missouri residents.
Aldo A. Sebben Athletics Scholarship
Student must be member of Bears football team and have completed 2 years of eligibility.
Stephen L. Shepard Football Scholarship
Student must be member of Bears football team.
Carolyn Love Sparks Scholarship
Student must be a member of women's athletic team. Student must not be eligible for financial aid based on parent income.
William L. Stewart Golf Fund Endowed Scholarship
Student must be a member or prospective member of Missouri State golf team and proven themselves to be outstanding members of the golf team, or high school seniors who are prospective members of the golf team with leadership potential.
Jack Sutliff Memorial Baseball Scholarship
Student must be a member of Missouri State baseball team. Consideration will be given to undergraduate students enrolled at the sophomore level or higher. Student must maintain at least 3.0 GPA.
