Join President Clif Smart and his wife, Gail, for a dessert reception and mingle with other families of the Class of 2023. Relax after a day of moving in, meet faculty, staff and administrators while your students enjoy Playfair and other activities.

Bear Bash

North Mall and Plaster Student Union

Roar at Bear Bash with the sounds of Brass and Sass, carnival games, pizza, popcorn, sno cones and other goodies.

The night includes a caricature artist, game rooms, hypnotist, snacks, crafts, dueling pianos and more. The first 1,000 students who pick up a T-shirt ticket will receive a Bear Bash T-shirt.

New Student Convocation

JQH Arena

It's the official academic welcome and tradition. You'll learn what it means to be a #CitizenBear and discover what's ahead for you. Immediately following the event, take the traditional Bear Walk to New Student Festival.
