Position Title: Sales Assistant
Department: Plaster Student Union Administration
Supervision: Position reports to the Director of the Plaster Student Union or their designee.
Position Overview:
Sales Assistants conduct proactive outreach to Springfield's business community on behalf of both the Plaster Student Union and MSU Esports program to build partnerships and drive revenue.
General Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Cold calling, contacting, and engaging local businesses.
- Effectively market MSU Esports teams and initiatives.
- Secure sponsorships for esports teams.
- Sell digital signage advertisements.
- Provide detailed reports to the Director of the Plaster Student Union.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align strategies and maximize impact.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- House Crew members are student employees and must meet all University requirements to work on campus.
- Minimum GPA: 2.0
- Minimum enrolled credit hours for U.S. & International students.
- Experience in sales.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Students majoring in marketing and/or sales.
Schedule:
- Average of 5-10 hours/week.
- The work environment will be both on site in the PSU and remote, as agreed upon by the Director of the Plaster Student Union.
Position Outcomes:
- Hands-on sales and marketing relations.
- Enhanced verbal and written communication skills.
Successful Outcomes:
- Each of the three Esports teams will receive sponsorship.
- Outreach to 20 businesses resulting in at least 5 digital advertisements monthly throughout the duration of calendar year.
