Position Title: Involvement Ambassador

Department: Office of Student Engagement

Supervision: Position reports to the Student Engagement Coordinator – Co-Curricular Involvement. Throughout the year, the IAs meet one-on-one with each student organization, work to improve student involvement on many levels, and assist the Coordinator and Graduate Assistant with student involvement projects as needed.

Position Overview:

The Involvement Ambassador (IA) provides assistance and advisement to student organizations and their leaders.

General Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • With the team of three Involvement Ambassadors, arrange one-on-one advising meetings with organization presidents to go over OSE requirements, mission/vision of the organization and its events, etc.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of BearLink’s co-curricular involvement features.
  • Meet with current and prospective students to discuss ways to get involved on our campus.
  • Review pre-meeting questionnaires that will guide one-on-one conversations with student leaders.
  • Give involvement presentations on behalf of the Office of Student Engagement.
  • Meet regularly with full-time staff and the Co-Curricular Involvement team.
  • Support the Co-Curricular Involvement team’s educational programming through activity facilitation and logistical planning.
  • Responsible for reviewing individual experience submissions in BearLink, approving and denying as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and functions for the Co-Curricular Involvement team as assigned.
  • This may include general office needs such as answering phone calls, answering walk-in questions, general typing/filing, etc.

Qualifications (Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • House Crew members are student employees and must meet all University requirements to work on campus.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0
  • Minimum enrolled credit hours for U.S. & International students.
  • Ability to follow directions and manage time.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Schedule:

  • Average of 10-15 hours/week.
