Position Title: Marketing Assistant

Department: Plaster Student Union Administration

Supervision: This position reports to the Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:

The Marketing Assistant for the Plaster Student Union is responsible for creating engaging social media content and promoting PSU events to enhance student engagement and awareness. This role includes developing, curating, and scheduling content across various platforms, ensuring that all materials align with PSU’s brand and objectives. The Marketing Assistant will also play an active role in hosting and attending events and collaborating with other student organizations to create dynamic and memorable experiences.

General Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and incorporate them into content
  • Curate creative, relevant, and engaging content for PSU’s social media platforms
  • Host and assist in the coordination of events throughout the year, ensuring smooth operations
  • Represent PSU at tabling events during SOAR and visit days, engaging with prospective students and providing information
  • Collaborate with other student organizations to promote joint events and initiatives
  • Monitor social media engagement and interact with followers to foster a sense of community
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of social media campaigns, making adjustments as needed to maximize reach and engagement

Qualifications (Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • The Marketing Assistant is a student employee and must meet all University requirements to work on campus.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Minimum enrolled credit hours for U.S. & International students.
  • Familiar with the Missouri State campus and Plaster Student Union.
  • Ability to follow directions and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible hours for availability (including evenings & weekends).
  • Openness to working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with people from different backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Social media experience
  • Video and photography experience

Schedule:

  • Average of 2-10 hours/week
  • Available to work nights and summers
